Simple Coconut Creme Marble Cake A la Mode With Yogurt

This is a great snack that I eat very often. It’s quick and easy to make. This recipe is a twist on the cake and ice cream. It’s even though you’re eating cake it’s a healthier alternative to eating cake and ice cream. With this recipe, you will essentially be substituting your ice cream for a flavor of yogurt that you choose.

For my cake, I chose a marble cake that you can get from the bakery at Walmart. It’s actually one of my favorite cakes I do eat this cake with ice cream even though for this recipe I’m using yogurt. A marble cake (or Marmor) is a cake with a streaked or mottled appearance (like marble) achieved by very lightly blending light and dark batter.

The yogurt that I’m using for this snack will be the coconut creme whipped yogurt mousse from Yoplait. Normally I don’t like whipped yogurts but I tried this one and I fell in love with it. It’s very light and airy with a sweet taste. You start this off by getting your marble cake slice and placing it on a microwave-safe plate. Place your cake in the microwave and eat for 15 to 20 seconds.

After your marble cake has warmed take your yogurt and scoop it out onto your plate placing a bit of the yogurt onto your cake to warm it. This gives the illusion of icing as well as ice cream. For the A la mode effect you can freeze your yogurt slightly before eating.

Take your spoon and digging. Be sure to get equal amounts of cake and equal amounts of yogurt on your spoon. This will produce the most flavorful experience on your tongue. While I love this recipe it’s hard finding the coconut creme-flavored whipped yogurt. You can experiment with this recipe by changing the cake flavor and pairing it with a different yogurt type.
