Happy National Soup For The Soul Day!
So I was getting ready to prepare a few Thanksgiving posts and I came across this website while doing my research. I initially intended on creating this post on National Health Observances but the website thespruce.com listed a ton of other observances that I thought may be a bit more interesting. The following post contains all the National Holidays and Observances for the month of November. While I may be a bit behind on the dates I was very much inspired and will go ahead and pick up from where we are.
Today is November 12th so according to the post, today is Chicken Soup for the Soul Day & World Pneumonia Day. Chicken Soup For The Soul Day is a day that is a celebration of the healing of souls. Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment is an American self-help, consumer goods, and media company based in Cos Cob, Connecticut. If you haven’t heard of Chicken Soup For The Soul it is a book series that is solely about inspirational stories about people and their everyday lives.
Celebrate with a soup for the soul!
World Pneumonia Day
World Pneumonia Day is observed on November 12 every year. The day aims to raise awareness about pneumonia and highlights its causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in one or both lungs. This is characterized by a severe cough with phlegm, fever, chills, and difficulty in breathing. Preventing this infection can be done by avoiding people who are sick.
If you are sick try your best to stay away from others as much as possible to avoid getting them sick as well. You can also help prevent respiratory infections by making sure that you wash your hands regularly. When you wash your hands wash them with soap and scrub your hands and forearms for at least 20 seconds. After washing your hands thoroughly dry them off completely and use a hand sanitizer. This will be an additional layer of protection against the spread of germs.
Clean and disinfect the surfaces that are used most often. You can do this by using disposable disinfectant wipes or an aerosol spray with paper towels. A rag will be just as good but it may potentially leave behind germs if it is reused before it has been washed and sanitized properly.
If you have a bad cough and have spells of coughing and sneezing carry tissues with you. When You do cough or sneeze do so into a tissue or into your elbow or sleeve. Wash and sanitize your hands if you have to blow your nose and discard the used tissues immediately.
Limiting contact with cigarette smoke or quitting smoking. While doing this be sure that you do not share cigarettes or consume alcoholic beverages while you are sick. Take good care of all the other medical conditions you may have. These include those such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease. While doing that be sure that you remain up to date with all of your vaccines and shots.
