I’m pretty sure you would agree that we love wash day. It will be a time to cleanse your hair. Zen your mind, and refresh your spirits. Especially if you have been struggling with your own personal hair goals. I will also admit that wash day for me is always dreadful regardless of how many times I’ve done it. You would think it would get easier as time passed but it doesn’t.
This is possibly due to the fact that your hair has probably gotten longer or changed in texture. How does this process get easier? Possibly by alternating your wash day procedures and routines. Lately, I have been busy doing other things so consistent hair care has not been a top priority.
Hair Product Haul
Recently I stopped by a local department store and noticed they were having a sale on a few top-name brand hair products. After browsing the products I ended up stocking up on some of them. I did this for two reasons. The first reason was to test them out and see if they work for my hair. Also to see if I like the way the product makes my hair look and feel. The second reason was to be sure that I had at least one more of the product on hand just in case they do wonders for my natural hair.
Aussie Miracle Coils Shampoo
So the first purchased product I began using after purchasing was the Aussie Miracle Coils shampoo. It’s a sulfate-free shampoo with Cocoa Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil. I actually really like this shampoo. It’s definitely going to be one of my go-to products now and in the near future. I like this product for various reasons. The first reason I like this product is that a little bit of the product goes a long way.
This product was not fairly expensive but it could cause you to want to wash your hair more often. You don’t have to use much of this product to create an enormous lather. I used about a quarter to a half-dollar-sized amount and it covered my whole head and was heavily saturated. Using this shampoo allows me to really cleans my hair strands and scalp area.
I can easily distribute the product throughout my whole head and work the product through my hair. This made detangling my hair a whole lot easier and faster. After shampooing your hair feels EXTREMELY clean and soft. Shrinkage is to be expected with any hair wash depending on your hair type, but my hair felt very bouncy. After shampooing my hair I conditioned and twisted it in a protective style.
The second time I used this shampoo I washed my hair with my twists still in from the first shampoo. I untwisted one of the twists in the back and left it untwisted during the wash. I wanted to be sure of the effectiveness of the product with this washing session. I weighed the pros and cons of washing my hair with it being pre-twisted in its normal state. Overall I could say that I had an easier wash day with my hair already twisted during the shampoo.
It was easier for me to manage my hair during the process. This includes shampoo application and distribution, conditioning, and the drying process. If air drying, I just blot my head with a towel and leave it. If I were to blow dry my hair, I would simply stretch the strands and let them dry. If flat ironing, just untwist one section, dry it, and straighten it. If you had nowhere to go or would be wearing a wig. I would say it would be worth it. Just add some oil to your scalp and sheen your tresses, then pin them up and cover them.
