This year’s MTV VMA awards ceremony was cohosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow who scooped up the first award with his feature on the hit song Industry Baby with Lil Nas X. This ceremony took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, this Sunday, August 28th, 2022.

THE 2022 VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD
The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, is best known as the Video Vanguard Award. This isa special award of merit which is given to recording artists and music video directors at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The VMA’s is a ceremony that was established in 1984 and continues on to the present day. This Year’s Honoree for such an award goes to none other than the Marvelous Onika Miraj better known as rap artist Nicki Minaj. The 17-time nominated and 5-time VMAs winner is being honored for breaking barriers for women in the music industry and cementing herself as a true leader in the world of hip-hop.

Before accepting her award she took the stage along with a handful of beautiful ladies to perform many of her hit songs that paved the way.
Some of the songs included in her performance were tidbits of “All Things Go,” “Roman’s Revenge,” her verse on “Monster,” “Beez In The Trap,” “Chun-Li,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Super Bass,” “Anaconda,” and her recent single “Super Freaky Girl.”
This year, headlining performances for the MTV VMA ceremony include the following artists as well as Kane Brown, who is making history as the first male country singer to ever perform at the VMA Awards show.
