I guess we can go ahead and begin this post by saying I love me some Jim Carrey. That’s clearly not a “Liar Liar” statement. Jim Carrey is best known for many of his comedic roles in many popular movies we all know and love.
The Mask is described as a 1994 American superhero comedy film directed by Chuck Russell and produced by Bob Engelm. The Mask movie stars Jim Carrey who plays the main character Stanley Ipkiss. He is a mild-mannered bank clerk who finds a magical wooden green mask. The finding of this item transforms him into The Mask.
The Mask is a green-faced troublemaker with the ability to cartoonishly alter himself and his surroundings at will. He starts using his newly found magical powers to fight crime, which causes him to be targeted by a gangster who desires to overthrow him.
With the Halloween season rapidly approaching many of us are in search of something to wear. A new look to try and more exciting things to do. The Mask is among one of the most popular Halloween costumes on the market. Get into the holiday spirit this year with a mask of your own and go fight some bad guys this Halloween!
Let’s go ahead and speak on this suit right here. Yall, I looked high and low, searched near and far and I couldn’t find a full-length photograph of this complete outfit. But finally, I found one that would be good enough for this post right here. (Insert loud sigh here). Now with that being said I also could barely find this costume for a “Reasonable price”.
Of course, the good ones will be quite pricey but it doesn’t always have to be like that. I mean with all the online thrift stores on the market I thought I would be able to find SOMETHING and I actually DID. Now, while doing all the legwork to allow my readers the best experience I came across these sites listed below. While conducting this research I came to find that most of the sites were selling the SAME exact items.
I can never be too sure unless I purchase one item from each site and measure the similarities. Nevertheless, I added them to the list. With that being said I will say that I do not necessarily agree with the depiction of the costume construction quality. I don’t want to say the costume looks cheap but hey EVERYONE is selling me the same photographs of this item. I mean who actually expects to wear the same Halloween costume again next year?
I guess mass production earns some brownie points with that statement. Though the quality doesn’t seem the greatest I do appreciate the creation of the look and yes I would purchase. All we really want to do is party, collect candies and take photographs right? Right. If you are in the market for this particular costume I hope you appreciate my services. Hosting Freddy Krueger| A Nightmare On Elm Street

Okay, so if you’ve never heard of Freddy Krueger or the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street, I don’t know where you’ve been. This is one of the most popular scary movies on the planet! It’s super creepy, super scary, and super mind-boggling. Research has this movie listed as a 1984 American supernatural slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven and produced by Robert Shaye. The movie is based on a fictional”Creepster” character invented by the writer who preys on sleeping children.
Burned Fedora Hat
The hat that the main villain in the movie wears is a fedora hat. This hat is symbolic to the character due to Wes Craven’s inspiration for Freddy. As the story goes a young Wes Craven was basically spooked by an elderly man while looking outside. Legend states that the elderly man walked towards the window and peered in before walking away. This is how the creation of the fictional character began. Hence the term “Peeping Tom” and Freddy closely resembled a “Tom”. While Freddy is most notoriously known for his razor-sharp claw his burned fedora is also a Freddy Staple.
The infamous red and green sweater is the main item of clothing for the Freddy character. Research states that the sweater was chosen due to a magazine article read by the director. The color combination was chosen because the article said the pairing of red and green was the most difficult for the human eye to perceive correctly. Green and red color hues together tend to make each other brighter by competing for the foreground. This is because the hues are too close to each other on the visible spectrum.
With that being said Christmas colors are often red and green. Most children grew up believing that “Santa Claus” crept down the chimney and left presents while we slept. Now if Santa climbed down the chimney while it was lit he probably would look like Freddy. That’s all I’m saying about the matter because it just makes sense. NOW, I only came up with that concept and found this out while creating this post. Thank GOD for inspiration and sleep deprivation. Let the Church say AMEN.
Freddy’s glove is a very crucial signature weapon and the main aspect of the character. It is seen in all of the Elm Street movies. While over time the actual glove itself has changed it is always worn during the film. Freddy’s glove was created out of sheet metal, pipes, fishing knives, rivets, and an old leather work glove.
Freddy Krueger is bald-headed with a scarred and burned face and neck. This is a result ofbeing burned alive by the parents of Springwood. His burned, disfigured face commonly identifies him in all of the original films. At the start of the character’s appearance, only his face was burned. Having gone through many trials and attempts to cause death the scars have spread to the rest of his body. These burns and scars appear on him from the second film onwards.

The Sheer Crystal Bodysuit That Rocked The World

Paris Fashion Week
Zendaya was spotted at Paris Fashion Week wearing the look you see here. She attended the Valentino spring 2023 show wearing an iconic sheer “V” circle logo crystal embellished bodysuit. I know that was definitely a mouthful. For the event, it is rumored that the global brand ambassador swapped the signature house hot pink for black.
Paris Fashion week is one of the most iconic and anticipated fashion events. The event consists of a series of designer presentations held semiannually in Paris, France. Paris Fashion Week is part of the global “Big 4” fashion weeks. The others are London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week. The schedule begins with New York, followed by London, and Milan, finishing in Paris.
The Bodysuit Stamp
The look was created by layering a black embellished blazer and short suit over a sexy, lightweight sheer crystal-embellished bodysuit. All three of the pieces in the outfit adorned the shimmering V-shaped decorations. Along with the three-piece bodysuit and short set she wore cream-colored heels with a pointed toe.
Her hairstyle choice was simple and elegantly tucked behind the ear flowing down her back. She wore large black embellished earrings which can be seen framing her face and neckline. A circular silver ring was worn for a little more glittering embellishment. Her makeup consisted of a subtle smokey eye, a light blush with rose tones, and a pumpkin spice shade of lipstick.

Why I love this look
Let me start off by saying I love this look. Now when I first came across the photograph I saw “Sheer Crystal Bodysuit” and rushed to critique it. Why would I do such a thing? Well, I figured if it was a bodysuit that was sheer and crystalized how could it still be sheer? I flew right on over there and was very impressed. Not because I like Zendaya, or because Valentino is some rich designer and I should appreciate his work blah blah blah. (I love his work)
First I will say that I like the full-length bodysuit piece. It’s different and very raunchy, yet sophisticated and elegant. I like the oversized blazer that gives her thin frame a bit of weight without looking heavy. The shorts paired with the bodysuit gives the illusion of pants while elongating her legs. The blazer doesn’t come equipped with a belt but I think it would be a great addition to the look. Having that would allow the coat to be worn as a dress and provide a more snug fit if necessary.

With Halloween right around the corner, many people are starting to prepare for their festivities. Most times people shop for their Halloween costumes and decor following the passing holiday. Many people plan for the holiday at the last minute. This could be for many different reasons but mainly it’s due to your “Spirit of festival-ness” (Is that even a word?)
Anyways, to begin the celebration we all need something to wear. Let’s go ahead and admit it, costumes are EXPENSIVE. Especially the good ones not to say homemade costumes are shabby even though they are. (Insert Laugh here) It does not have to end in a costume cram with proper planning. This post is to give you a bit of inspiration and help you shop for the holiday season.
This look is very simple and easy to create. This scarecrow costume poncho the model is wearing is sold at Walmart for $12.97. Throw the poncho on with a pair of tights or your favorite jeans. Add some accessories and you’re all set for a night on the town! If you can’t find the poncho in stores this would be a simple and easy look to recreate. Grab an oversized T-shirt, a couple of old fabric squares from worn clothes, an empty paper bag, a rope of twine, and a mini sewing kit.
Sew or glue the paper bag around the neckline and place the patches in the desired areas. Glue the string onto the paper bag around the front near the collarbone area. The hair piece can be created by using the old fabric scraps created to the shape of the form of choice. You can poke a hole in the middle and adhere with hair pins or you can simply glue it to a headband.
Mummified Mum Costume
This super creepy yet sexy mystical mummy costume is sold on Amazon for $26.35. The Tattered design bears semblance to ancient mummies but in a chic fashion. I like this costume because it is different from most of the mummy costumes on the market today. It’s simple and straight to the point without being too extra for those who celebrate but don’t go overboard.
Mystical Mummy Costume
If you don’t have the funds for the store-bought costume you can possibly create a similar look with things you already have in your closet. If you already own a white or cream-colored dress you can cut it into this style or wear it like it is. Creating the mummified look may require a few additional items. You may need toilet paper (Or gauze tape), masking tape, concealer or foundation, a Kool-Aid package, white knee-high socks, and an old t-shirt. If you don’t have knee-high socks or can’t find any you can use an old white t-shirt for the foot and ankle part.
Lay the dress down flat or place it on your body if you have help. Wrap the toilet paper in any direction you choose around the dress itself. Once done wrap the masking tape across the toilet paper-covered dress in any fashion you like. You can use as much or as little of these items as you wish. After you finish wrapping the dress use concealer or foundation on a makeup sponge and blot it onto the dress so that it smears and creates a dust particles look.
Use some toilet paper to wipe the dress so that it does not cause a mess when wearing but so that the stains remain. Do the same method on the knee-high socks. The foot of the sock may be clipped if you will be wearing open-toe shoes. It will not be necessary if you will be wearing boots or sneakers.
Cut the neck of the T-Shirt off the shirt and cut the shirt in half vertically down the middle. Clip off a long vertical strip from the end of one of the two pieces. This strip of cloth will be used for the headband. The other two pieces will be wrapped around the bottom portion of the legs and should be wrapped in the same fashion as the dress. Use the Kool-Aid package to create artificial blood staining if desired. Simply take a little bit of the powder and rub it in the spots desired and rub thoroughly so that it does not create a mess but the stain remains.

This Blessed Babe Nun Costume is super cute, simple, and sexy. You can find this costume for sale at Party City for $25.00. Although we should be sure to pay our tithes and offerings sometimes it can be more than we can afford. This should not be the time for you to wear this costume but we could all use a little blessing during the season. This look can be easily recreated using simple items you may already own. Of course, a few additional items may be required.
A simple black dress can be worn with dark-colored stockings and black shoes. This may already be a staple in your closet. To create the white collar of the neckline you can do this in two different ways. If you have a white turtle neck simply cut the desired shape leaving the collar attached to the top. You can sew this to the dress, adhere it with fabric glue or use safety pins to pin it from the underside. If a turtleneck is unavailable the same can be done using a clean white T-shirt or simply by tucking a napkin into the collar of the dress and securing it with a safety pin for easy removal.
The headdress can be created by cutting open a black pillowcase or using a headscarf. Clip the end of the white t-shirt and tie it around the crown of the headdress. Secure the flaps with a safety pin underneath the flowing portion of the headdress.

The French Fry
French fries are one of the most popular and easiest snacks to make in the world. Typically we substitute fresh fries for frozen ones, even though they are guaranteed their freshness when purchased. This post isn’t about french fries it is about the dipping sauces. You know the ones outside of the regular mundane ketchup. The ones we would love to use but don’t know about. The ones included in this here post.
Alabama White Sauce
1. Alabama White BBQ Sauce
Whisk together 1 Cup of mayo or miracle whip, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of spicy mustard, and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. Add ½ teaspoon of pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and mix well in a small container. Season to taste with salt.
2. Chile Lime Mayo
Whisk ¾ cup of mayo, the juice of 1 lime, ¼ to ½ a teaspoon of chipotle chile powder, and 1 tablespoon of water in a small bowl. Mix well and place in the refrigerator.
3. Cranium Sauce
In a small container mix together 2 tablespoons of mayo, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, a pinch of garlic powder, and a splash of Worcestershire, and stir well.
Mix ½ teaspoon of curry powder with ¼ cup of mayonnaise and add a pinch of sugar. Stir the mixture well and season to taste.
5. French Fry Sauce
Whisk together in a small container ¼ cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon mayo, and 1 teaspoon bbq sauce.
6. Honey Curry glaze
Mix 1 teaspoon of curry powder with 1/4 cup of honey and stir well.
7. Housewarming Sauce
Mix about ¼ cup of honey (About 3 tablespoons) with 1 tablespoon of hot sauce and stir. You can play with this recipe until you reach your desired heat and mixture consistency.
8. Maple Ketchup
Use 1 teaspoon of maple syrup with ¼ cup of ketchup and ½ teaspoon of chipotle Chile powder. Mix well and serve to taste.
Mix ¼ cup of Ranch Dressing with 1 teaspoon of Buffalo Sauce and stir well.
10. Siracha De Mayo
Mix ¼ cup of Mayo or miracle whip with half a teaspoon of siracha sauce and stir well. Add Siracha sauce to taste.
How To Make French Fries:
First, grab some potatoes. These could be any type, shape, size, or brand. This is all courtesy of your crave-stricken tastebuds. You will also need a bowl, baking sheet, frying pan, oil, potato peeler, paper towels, and salt.
Wash your potatoes thoroughly and place them to the side. If you don’t want skin on your potatoes go ahead and peel the skin off using a potato peeler. This step is not necessary if you want to leave the skin on. Potato skin has many beneficial properties.
Potato skins are loaded with iron, which helps support red blood cell function. The skin is also a good source of vitamin B3 which helps cells break down nutrients into useable fuel. In addition, vitamin B3 helps your cells recover from physiological stress. Baked potato skin is a great source of potassium and magnesium. The potato skin also contains approximately half of the total dietary fiber as the potato itself.
After you rinse your potatoes dry them off with a paper towel. Line your baking sheet and line it with a cheesecloth or paper towel. Slice or cut your potatoes to the desired shape. This could be like chips, wedges, shoestrings, or crinkly. After you cut the potatoes lay them flat on the baking sheet and pat them dry.
Preheat your oil in a sauce or frying pan and wait until the temperature is set. Drop your fries into the grease and let fry for about 5-6 minutes. Remove the fries from the greased pan and place them on a paper towel to drain the remaining grease.
Let them cool for about 1 minute then place them back into the grease for an additional 2-3 minutes until you reach the desired crispiness. Remove fries from the pan and place them in a bowl lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with salt or desired seasoning.
Using the above preparation instructions this method can be used for homemade fries using an oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the tray into the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Flip the french fries over and bake until golden brown or to the desired crispiness. This should be an additional 10- 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven, and plate them with your favorite sauces.

With the Halloween season quickly approaching, many of us are searching for inspiration. We are looking for the latest costumes, best makeup looks, wigs, treats, and holiday decor. Are you looking for something to create this Halloween but don’t have tons of time to do it?
These simple marshmallow Halloween treats can be created quickly with minimal ingredients. To make this collection as simple as possible I will list the main ingredients that can be used to create a variety of the treats posted below.

Quick Tip:
When choosing your candy-melting chocolates I would suggest using white melting candy wafers instead of the colored ones. This is a great way for you to save money on candies and allow yourself room to be extra creative. You can typically use anything as coloring for your candies and not just food coloring alone.
After you melt the candies you can separate small amounts into different containers. Add the food coloring and stir. You can also drop a few of the same color M&M’s into the warm chocolate and stir until all the color is removed from the M&M. Scoop the chocolate candy out of the mixture and discard.
Be very careful not to break the outer coating of the M&M. This may cause the milk chocolate to darken your melted mixture. If that is the color you are going for it will work in your mixture. Since the melter wafers are already warm the color should transfer fairly quickly.
If you want additional colors you can sort some of the colored sprinkles into piles and add them to the melted chocolate string until they melt and add pigment to the white chocolate melts.

These are a few of my favorite Marshmallow pops. The link will take you directly to the page which has all the instructions for creating the goodies. I did not want to type them all out because I had plenty of favorites. The same will be true for each category listed in this post.
Marshmallow Hay Stack
While searching the web for Halloween marshmallow ideas I came across a photo that gave me much inspiration. The photo was showcasing their marshmallow pops but I was more interested in the prop that they used to hold them up. The photo will b posted below with instructions on how to use your marshmallow grocery list to create a “pop prop”.
This method can be used to create a stand for your pops in case you don’t have the foam squares. You can do this with your pretzels and marshmallows. This process should be done similarly to smores but using pretzels instead of graham crackers.
Start by laying a few pretzel sticks down on a microwave-safe plate. If you are using larger pretzels I would suggest using 3 or 4. If you are using smaller ones I would suggest using about 8 to 10 placed close together horizontally. Place two or three Marshmallows on top of the pretzels.
Heat the marshmallows slightly so that they melt just enough to get a bit sticky. This will allow you to use marshmallow-like glue so that you can stick the pretzels along the front and back sides of the marshmallows to create a box-like structure. Break the pretzels in half to create a closure for the short sides of your haystack. The top portion of your haystack can be decorated to your liking.
This box was constructed by dipping the pretzel sticks in the melted chocolate and stacking them together. Place sticks on the bottom and fill with marshmallows. Add toppings and stand the pops on the inside.
You can add m&m’s to the top of the box for a pop of color. Sprinkle Oreo crumbs over the warm marshmallow on the inside to create a dirt box. Fill it with candy eyeballs or melted colored chocolate melts. The options are limitless. The Sephora House of Beauty Virtual Event Review

Recently Sephora hosted a virtual House of Beauty Event. This event was held on Sunday, September 18, 2022. The event was basically free with the option to purchase 2 separate event tickets that included a goodie bag. The tickets were sold for $50 and included in the goodie bags were items from the sponsored brands and samples.
House Of Beauty Event Program
The event began with a set agenda or event schedule. The agenda notified you of the classes and live videos that were happening in the virtual rooms. The House of Beauty Agenda had 8 main segments.
Master Classes
The first session on the schedule was the Tatcha Masterclass. This was a live session that showcased some of the products from the Tatcha Beauty skincare collection. These products were created to help restore clarity to your skin and mind with a research-backed ritual that engages all five senses.
The second item on the program list was the Sephora collection which was a class for confidence. The host of this particular class was Helen Phillips Dagdag. During this session, the main goal of the class was based on creating a greater acceptance in the LGBT community. The collection included beauty brushes, palettes, eyeliners, and foundation.
Following this class was the beauty master class featuring Danessa Myricks. During this class, the main goal was to educate you on different ways to change the shape of your eyes. This method is to be used for changing the direction in which you want the eye and the lid to go. Using this technique you can enlarge the eye or make your eyes seem closer together. The palette being used in the demonstration is the Lightwork IV Transcendence Palette by Danessa Myricks.
In the sunroom, the live stream featured more products from the Sephora collection. The items in the showcase were blush items and lipglosses. The hosts for this class were David Razzano and Myiesha Sewell. This session allowed the guests to take a poll and choose which look they wanted to see on the model. I enjoyed the energy in this room as well as the color pigments being showcased.
The Getup and Move session wasn’t a live class it was more so a collection of videos. The videos were free workouts with featured trainers. One of the videos consisted of meditation moments for reflection. The other two videos were workout videos by fitness trainer Sydney Belina. These workouts and videos can be found by downloading the free Fiton app.
The Mental Health and Wellness in the LatinX community session was hosted in the La Sala area. I attended this portion of the house because I was unaware of what the Latin X community was. Yes, of course, I know what Latin means but was unaware of the “X” part.
The term is commonly used by activists in higher education and the popular media who seek to advocate for individuals on the borderlines of gender identity. This segment was to inform the guest of the resources that were available to them and what they can do if they need to seek mental health help.
The Haus Labs by Lady Gaga was a foundation tutorial using the new product line by Lady Gaga. This tutorial was intended to show you the best way to apply your foundation. The collection was created to provide a wider selection of color choices for the best foundation coverage.
The Cayskin segment was a showcase of a new skincare line with an emphasis on sunscreen protection. Sun exposure can be beneficial as well as harmful to our skin. We need to pay close attention to the ingredients in the products we use and what they are used for. Sea Moss is a nutrient-rich seaweed that is known to hydrate, support, and protect the skin. This is one of the key ingredients Winnie Harlow incorporates in the vegan CaySkin line.
The Sephora black-owned business collection was one of my favorite parts of the house. I enjoyed the selection of items that were showcased. My favorite product was the Bread Beauty Supply Hair Mask products. This was my favorite item because I thought the packaging was dope. It resembled that of a magazine cover. I also like the fact that it had a spout and squeeze pouch for ease of use.
The last session on the agenda was the Kayali perfume collection. It was another one of my favorite segments. The atmosphere was very fun, energetic, and relaxing. The packaging of the product was very sleek and simple yet elegant and fancy. During the watch party, she gave us a bit of insight on why she paired the flavor notes together and what her inspiration was for the scents.
Overall I enjoyed the Sephora House Of Beauty Virtual Event. There were other aspects of the House that I did not mention due to the lengthiness of this post as it is. Outside of the agenda, if you have ever seen the Justin Timberlake video Mirrors, the house was set up similarly to that.
There were different on-demand videos available for you to watch as well as games to play. I must admit that the games that were in the house were NOT easy. The games allowed you to gain points which could be used in the store for discounts on purchases. The slideshow below is a little more in-depth visual of the Virtual House.
How To Determine Your Hair Type And Texture

While straight hair is typically more appealing when you have curly hair, we have to admit curly hair is definitely poppington. (That means low-key BOMB). We also have to address the fact that your curly hair needs to be maintained properly to “POP”.
The first step to luxurious and healthy hair (On Fleek) is determining your hair type. The most common way to define your hair type is by the hair strands being either curly or straight. With that being said, I will also add that there are several different ways to determine “curly”. This can be defined as being a wavy, spiral, corkscrew, or coily.
Types Of Waves
Wave curls are curls that have more of a loose S shape. The shape of wavy and loose curls varies from curl to curl, with a tendency to be flatter at the crown (top of the head closest to the scalp and hairline) and on the ends.
Spiral curls usually have a uniform ringlet S shape. The spiral curl strands maintain a steady S-pattern from the root to the end. This is similar to the wave pattern but is fairly tighter and more defined.
Corkscrew curls have a C-type shape that grows in a tight circular motion similar to that of a spiral curl.
Coily curls have a tight Z-type formation and form one of the tightest curl patterns. These curls are defined by a close-knit curl pattern with luxurious volume.
Identifying Curl Patterns
Identifying your curl shape and curl pattern is fairly easy. This is best determined while your hair is soaking wet and can be done after shampooing your hair. If you want to do this on dry hair section a portion of hair and wet using a spray bottle. Once the hair is wet your curl pattern should begin to form. Your hair type is best described as the way your hair grows out from your scalp. In basic terms, this is clearly what we call our “hair texture.”
Most people don’t just have one type of hair pattern on their heads. Our hair is full of strands that grow in many different shapes, forms, and densities. This is due to the fact that humans typically have more than 100,000 hairs on their heads. Over time you lose some strands of hair and at least one hair is lost every day. Further research confirms that about 50 to 100 hairs fall out each day. This can be while you’re washing your hair, brushing or combing it, or just sitting still.
4 Hair Types
There are four different categories of hair type. This is charted by using the numbers 1,2,3 & four with accompanying letters A, B, and C. If the single strand of your hair is absolutely flat with no indentations or waves you have type 1 hair which is better known as straight hair. If the strand of your hair is typically flat with slight waves then you probably have type 2 hair which is wavy.
If the hair is very wavy with less flatness it is considered to be curly hair which is more of a type 3 hair. If the hair is very curly and almost seems like it resembles a children’s slinky toy that would be more of a type 4 hair which is coily.
The sub-classifications of A to C are based on the width or diameter of your wave, curl, or coil. Type A’s have a wider pattern size and are the largest, Type B’s are medium incorporating wide and small curls, and Type C’s are the smallest of the three with very close and tighter diameters.
Hair Type Sub- classifications
Type 1s have straight hair. This hair has absolutely no curl shape or curl pattern.
Type 2 hair is wavy. The waves are bendable, can have fine to coarse strands, and have a definitive S pattern that lays closer to the head and scalp area. Type 2A hair has a fine, barely-there tousled texture that is typically very easy to straighten. It requires little to no effort and requires less heat during the straightening process. 2A waves, typically lack volume at the root and give off the appearance of a more flattened crown area.
2B hair lies flattened at the crown with defined S-shaped waves starting midlength. The strands are slightly thicker in diameter than a 2A and need a little bit more pressure and heat to straighten.
2C waves are thicker and more susceptible to frizz. The S-bends are well-defined and begin at the roots and remain the same all the way to the ends.
Type 3 hair is curly hair. This curly hair can range from loose, buoyant loops to tight, springy corkscrews which have some sheen but are prone to frizz. 3A strands tend to be shiny with large, loose curls that have a diameter about the size of a quarter.
3B hair strands have springy ringlets with a circumference similar to the size of your ring or pinky finger. This hair-type texture has the tendency to look and feel very dry.
3C curls are tight corkscrews that range in circumference from a straw to a pencil. These strands are densely packed together and have the appearance of lots of natural volume. Frizziness is also very common with this hair type.
Type 4 hair is coily or kinky. Coily hair is naturally very dry and spongy in texture. Often times it can be soft with fine strands or coarse and wiry. The strands form very tight, small curls of zig-zags right from the scalp and are prone to major shrinkage. People with hair type 4A have dense springy, S-patterned coils that are about the same circumference as a crochet needle.
4B strands are densely packed and can bend in sharp angles like the letter Z. 4C textures are similar to 4B textures, but the tightly-coiled strands are more fragile and have a very tight zig-zag pattern that is sometimes indiscernible to the naked eye. This hair type experiences the greatest amount of shrinkage. The shrinkage is about 75 percent or more than the other textures. Shrinkage and dryness are major concerns for this type.

5 Very overripe peeled bananas
½ cup Chopped toasted walnuts or pecans (Optional)
Banana Bread Instructions:
Preheat the oven and set it to 350 degrees. Lightly coat the pan with butter or oil whichever you prefer.
Combine the all-purpose and wheat flour in a bowl. Add the baking soda and salt into the same bowl. Mix this well and then set it aside.
In the second bowl, you will add the bananas and sugar. For smoother texture make sure there are no chunks or clumps of the bananas in your mixture. Mix this until it is as smooth as it will get or to the texture of your liking.
Add the butter, eggs, and vanilla extract into the banana mixture and mix well.
In small portions add the flour mixture into the banana bowl. Add the nuts into the mixture after the flour is complete if you will be using them.
After the oven has reached the proper temperature, use the spatula to place the mixture into the greased pan. Carefully place into the oven and bake until firm. This should take about an hour or until the desired consistency is reached.
After baking set the loaf aside to cool. Once cooled remove the loaf of bread from the pan. Wrap the bread in plastic then cover it in wax paper. Tie it with a ribbon or twine for storage.
Once ready to eat untie the bread loaf and slice.
Warm caramel sauce in the microwave or on low heat in a saucepan. Stir the sauce periodically to avoid sticking and burning. This should be for about 2-3 minutes. Drizzle the sauce over your sliced bread and enjoy.
How To Compare Finances To Hair Care

Hey, y’all. Before we get started I would like to make the following statement. “This will be a quick non-informational blog about hair and finances. It will include tons of rambling and opinionated thoughts. Mixed with a few offensive jokes, that I do not intend on being offensive, I am writing this to be entertaining.”
Let’s call it salon gossip since this will mainly be a hair post. So, as I’m conducting my research on a few topics I came across an interesting book at the library. The book in question is titled:
Beautiful Black Hair: Real Solutions to Real Problems by Shamboosie
I grab the book from the shelf, open it up, and think to myself “Okay this may be helpful.” So I have a seat at the table and begin looking through the pages. As I’m reading this book… (Not the whole thing) I came across a quote that was low-key offensive but it made me chuckle.
And this is the quote… Word For Word. It says ” There is a well-known quote from the Bible, “Money is the root of all evil.” In that statement lies the reasons so many of us have a spiritual life that is in the same condition as our hair but thank God for this too will change with time.”
Now when I read it I will be honest and say that I laughed. If you laughed as well, it’s probably due to one of these reasons and I will list them below as well as my thoughts.
Black women are bald-headed:
Stereo-typically speaking this is one of the oldest sayings in the book. We have all heard it before regardless of the state of our hair. Now, applying it to the quote comparing our hair to money it would basically say we were broke. Let’s go ahead and jump to the next bit of nonsense so that we don’t have to address them individually. And that my friends is how we can kill two birds with one stone.
Black women have nappy hair:
Once again applying the state of our hair to our money, having nappy hair would mean that we struggle with money. It could also mean that we were poor. Do you know that saying that goes something like this “Black people need to stick together”? Yep, sounds like every bit of poverty to me.
Black women don’t take care of their hair:
The third instance of application would be that we don’t take care of our hair. Applying it to our finances it’s precisely how it sounds. And one more saying ” Black people can’t ever keep BL**P”. Now as harsh as it sounds for some all these are true. We have all this “Good hair” but we don’t do it or attempt to maintain it. Same with money. We get it, grow it, and WASTE it. That’s what they say. I cannot, will not, and DO NOT intend to speak for everyone.
At the end of the quote, he mentions that he hopes that this will change. Do not take offense to what I spoke of but instead grab the book like I did, open it up and READ. This would be a great way for us to untangle some of that nappy hair they speak of.
Doing more research I stumbled across this website that is linked above and here is what they had to say: “Money is the root of all evil” is a misquote of 1 Timothy 6:10, taken out of context. A literal, word-for-word translation from Greek would be: “Root for of all evils is the love of money.” A better arrangement for English would be: “For a root of all evils is the love of money” or “For the love of money is a root of all evils.”
Now I personally agree with both statements. Money is NOT the root of all evil and these are my thoughts. Starting with the first one:
The Creation of Money:
“On March 10, 1862, the first United States paper money was issued. The denominations at the time were $5, $10, and $20 and became legal tender on March 17, 1862. The inclusion of the motto “In God We Trust” on all currency was required by law in 1955.”
For all my Bible readers let’s check those creation dates. According to the book we all know and love most of us, We were created before the money had been invented. Correct me if I am wrong I am not a Preacher, Pastor, or Master of Religion. With that being said let’s dig deeper into that statement about the creation of money. Was the creator of the money evil and NOT the currency itself? You have to ask yourself “What made them think of creating money and why did they need or want it?”
The Beggars Vs The Givers:
Were the creators trying to simplify their lives at the time by using a better “Barter” system? Or were they angry people who wanted to separate the beggars from the givers? I am not 100 percent correct on any of my opinions just wondering like you all probably.
NOW, let’s incorporate our hair again. Who had the nappiest hair in the Bible? Oh yes probably JESUS! So, before you get offended you big ol’ evil person ask yourself would you want to be Jesus poor or Jesus rich? Did Jesus have money? No. I think he was a wanderer who helped and healed, and deserved to get paid but rarely ever did. And who supposedly had the funds for his services? NOBODY.
If money is the root of all evil, God makes no mistakes, and we were created in his image who gave the creator that evil gift? Hmmm… I will allow you all time to ponder on this. I will not be digging any deeper into that topic because time is money. (Insert Laugh Here) Before I end this post with my 10-year NATURAL streak going on I will have a giggle. I will throw a little shade as we did in the book listed above at the other hair gurus and their FACTS. And before we leave this post full of short hair I will say thank you for your time.
